Battle of the Bases Championship Game

Help us pack Nat's stadium as Fort Belvoir and Joint Base Andrews battle it out on the softball field!

Battle of the Bases is a military softball tournament, presented by the Washington Nationals. It serves as an extension of the intramural season at each of the military bases in the National Capital Region.

Active Duty Service Members from all six branches participated in the preliminary tournament in August. These games determined which bases would play in the Championship game – under the lights at Nationals Park. We are excited to announce that Fort Belvoir was one of the prevailing teams!

The Battle of the Bases championship game will begin at 8 p.m. or 30 minutes after the last out of the 4:05 p.m. Washington Nationals vs. Dodgers game, whichever is later. 

The championship game is a FREE event. All are welcome to attend!

Please note, the Washington Nationals game is NOT free.         

Location

Nationals Park is located in Southeast Washington along the Anacostia River bounded by South Capitol Street to the west, N Street to the north, First Street to the east and Potomac Avenue to the south.

Entrance

Those attending the Championship game only will be permitted to enter through the Home Plate Gate 10 minutes after the last out of the Nationals game or at 7:30 p.m., whichever is later.

Parking

Patrons with appropriate ID (DoD or other Federal Agencies) may park on Fort McNair or the Washington Navy Yard on a space-available basis and walk to Nationals Park.

Need Washington Nationals tickets?

Leisure Travel Services (LTS) offers tickets at a reduced rate for eligible patrons. Tickets must be ordered at least 5 full business days in advance not including the day of purchase or the day of the game. For groups of 8 or more, order at least 2 weeks in advance.
