John C. McManus
Award-winning author and historian John C. McManus will discuss his book, Island Infernos. This novel follows the U.S. Army's epic WWII Pacific crusade with their landings on Saipan, Guam, Okinawa, and the American return to the Philippines, one of the largest, most complex operations in American history.
McManus is a professor, author, military historian, and a leading export on the history of the American combat experience. He is currently in residence at the U.S. Naval Academy as the Leo A. Shifrin Chair of Naval and Military History. His acclaimed books on World War II include Fire and Fortitude, Deadly Sky, September Hope, and The Dead and Those About to Die.
